New pc bits!!

Getting them today; 2x1GB DDR400 and an ATi Radeon 9600 Pro. That's probably upgraded my Sempron 2600+ as far as it will go, so i'll have to buss out some X2 goodness next time.

Still, this setup will play recent games pretty well at medium/low settings i'm guessing, so is plenty good enough for now. I've got BF2+ Special Forces and Eve Online to play on it, should keep me busy for a nice long time! :)
Also combined with 2mbps and Azureus, whoa! That HD is gonna fill up pretty fast!

Ok, see you.

Sweet. I am enjoying my new computer. Athlon 64 3800+ X2, GeForece 7800 GTX OC, 2 gigs of ram. Ultra sexy goodness. Gotta enjoy playing things on high while I can, that will last at most a year.

Anyway, have you tried utorrent instead of Azureus? I used to always use Azureus, even donated, but just found utorrent. Its ever bit as advanced and uses literally no resources compared to the hog that Azureus is.

  2. Can you look at all the random data on utorrent like the swarm details, people's upload speeds, who has the best share etc? I like looking at all that stuff.
Plus I bet it's not as fast as Azureus, I get stuff so quickly off that.

  3. That PC set up sounds more than good enough to play recent games - mines a P4 2Ghz, 768mb Ram with a Radeon 9600 (the system is about 3 years old) and it plays half life 2 (with all the graphics options on high) with no problems. The frame rate gets a bit choppy at times, but the 9600 is a quality card at a cheap price.

uTorrent is definitely every bit as fast downloading as Azureus.

As far as the advanced stats, I did doesn't have everything Azureus has, but it has most. No "swarm view" comes off the top of my head.

But seriously the system resources it takes is insane. uTorrent takes like 5 megs of ram and the processor usage will sit there at 0%, even if I have a file coming in at like 450k a second. Contrast this with the resource hog that Azureus is, and I consider it a winner.

Was just pointing it out though cause I just found it, use what you want :)

  5. I'll give it a go, looks good. I like how you can schedule it to pause torrents at a certain time, that's pretty cool.
